About me

The best way to get to know me as a  photographer is to see me at work. That's why I made this little film of me on a shoot following an elopement with this bride and groom at Hackney Town Hall.

Wedding Videography in London

I started out as a video editor on BBC News so I learnt from the best. I try to be different from the usual form. I like to use camera movement to create a sense of style. I tell the story of the couple rather than focus on the details around. I want the film to capture the love of the moment between the bride and groom.

It should look like a movie but soft as romance.

Bride & Groom photoshoot

Some couples pose for portraits and some let me capture the moments. I will photograph you as you walk and hold hands, kiss and touch each other.

I will pick the perfect light and background for a picture like this. Not much posing, just a couple in love.

Wedding ceremony photos

The ceremony is sacred and a photographer should be discreet, but must also capture the moments of the vows and rings and first kiss. I judge that balance carefully, to deliver the photos, almost without you noticing I’m there.

Confetti pictures

When the wedding guests shower you with confetti, you are the hero, the one who is admired. I’ll capture images of the joy and happiness of the couple, and the whole or the wedding party.

Wedding ring photos

A photo of wedding rings must show the bond that the rings symbolise. Otherwise, it would just be a picture of two pretty pieces of metal. This photo shows the love behind the rings it makes this picture glow. A permanent reminder of the sentiment and promise of your vows.

Hall Place and Gardens, Bexley, Kent.

Wedding Party Pictures

I love a good party picture. I join in with the dancing, clicking away with my camera and capturing the action up close and personal. That’s how to capture the moments.

“What I most was his ability to be creative as some of our best photos were because of his direction, but also he was able to get a lot of really good shots of people in the moment which helped to capture the essence of the day and people's personalities..” Jon

Where to get married in London?

An abundant choice of wedding venues is available for couples in London. The most stunning for photography include Dartmouth House and the Natural History Museum, or the Shangri-La in the iconic Shard. The view of the Thames is also complimented by the nearby backdrop of Tower Bridge, for those who want to send photos to their home countries that are immediately recognisable by this famous London landmark.

The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich is London’s ultimate riverside wedding location, perfect at any time of year. It is one of the most beautiful interiors in the world, with the awe-inspiring opulence of the famous Painted hall, to the intimate ambience of the historic Admiral’s House.

    Registry offices in East London

London has some of the most photogenic venues and scenes in the world. Whether it is a civil ceremony in an iconic registry office such as Old Marylebone Town Hall or the suburban registry offices such as Valentine’s mansion or Langtons House, London has beautiful photogenic civil venues for your wedding ceremony and vows. In the south is Morden Park House, while in the east is Hackney Town Hall. Every corner of London has a wonderful wedding venue.

Chelsea Old Town Hall is a glamorous place for a wedding. In the heart of Chelsea on the famous King’s Road, with South Kensington and Sloane Square tube stations close by. The building is Grade II-listed and serves as the backdrop to stunning wedding photos.

In south London, the Greenwich Registry Office is Woolwich Town Hall. It has three rooms for ceremonies for a small number of guests, up to the sumptuous Victoria Hall which allows for 130 guests including the bridesmaids and page boys. All are photogenic.

    Diversity in London wedding photography

London is the most diverse city in the world for weddings. The nationality, ethnicity, religion or sexuality, size, age, or whether you are able-bodied, all this makes a couple a part of the mix. There are no barriers to diversity in the most diverse city. Most photographer’s welcome diversity and are keen to show a whole mix of photos of wedding couples and guests in their portfolios.

Wedding vendors are also a part of the mix

The LGBT community now well-represented since the law changed to allow gay marriage. Binary weddings are the norm where they used to be unusual. The whole world is celebrating diversity and none more so than in London weddings.

    Bridal preparation photography

Engaged couples need to decide if they want the photographer to start the day at the wedding venue with the arrival of the bride, or to arrive early and catch the fun moments of hairdressing and makeup. This would involve getting shots of the wedding dress, shoes and accessories, but also other bride, usually at the time when the makeup is almost complete. Bride’s should allow 45 minutes to an hour for makeup. There are many wonder professionals in London for your wedding preparations.

    The groom party

Sometimes, the groom’s party also wants photography, which can easily be facilitated if both bride and groom are in the same London hotel, or I can arrange a 2nd shooter, so that one of us is with the hens and one with the stags.

    Engagement photoshoots

Engagement photography is great for creating beautiful images for your wedding invitations. There are beautiful locations such as the London parks, including Regents Park in Euston or The Hill Garden and Pergola, sometimes call the Pagoda, on Hampstead Heath. It overlooks West Heath, and was the dream of William H Lever, later Lord Leverhulme, a wealthy idealist, patron of the arts, architecture and landscape gardening; and Thomas Mawson, the celebrated landscape architect.

They will charge £200 for a permit and will insist that the photographer has public liability insurance, which should not be a problem for a professional photographer.

    Surprise proposals photographer

Many prospective grooms, (and brides) want to have the romantic moment of the proposal photographed or filmed. In this case it’s best to be out in the open, in order that the photographer can position themselves well to capture the moment when the groom goes down on one knee and offers the ring to his prospective bride. Greenwich Park is an excellent choice, with the stunning backdrop of Canary Wharf on the other side of the Thames.

Other great locations for engagement shoots are the steps of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Millennium Bride is wonderful, but you need to arrive early to avoid the crowds. The lake at Victoria Park in Bow has a wonderful fountain for the back ground of the prospective bride and groom. Belgravia is wonderful for the backdrop of beautiful Georgian town houses, and Notting Hill Gate has colourful terraced streets with each house a different colour.
